Suggestions?

I am looking for suggestions...
If you were moving half way around the world for a year and could only take a small suitcase and a backpack, and this had to include all your clothing, shoes, toiletries, etc. You can't have a cell phone. What items might you pack to remind you of home but not make you homesick?

You should definitely bring some pictures. They are relatively small and will make you smile. You need a camera and lots of memory cards! Hopefully yours has turned up, otherwise I will buy you a new one. I would bring my pillow, but I am strange. Good luck packing!

I found my camera this weekend, thank the Lord! I can also take short videos on it as well. I am going to bring my pillow too. I don't always do that when traveling, but I need something to remind me of home! :) Great suggestions girl!

You could ask people write you some CHRP type letters to take along, that would be fairly small and encouraging to re-read when needed on your journeys.

I had a picture album with me on the road of all my family and friends. It was small and fit in the front pocket of my backpack.

I garuntee by the end of the year, you won't know what to do with enough clothes to fill a closet.

Bring soap too.

This is an adventure that you will be forever changed.Good for you! Watch out for the roos! I would sew a "Tallahassee" patch on your backpack. It's an icebreaker because so many people have heard a song with our town name in it. I have yet to get the lyrics! When we went to NZ I brought some silver presidential coins to give to children along the way.People think they're cool and you can trade! Of course, a journal and it never hurts to bring toilet paper!!
